Overview

The Weighbridge covers the working side of waste and resource recovery in Australia: the collection runs, processing plants, contracts, equipment, technology, policy and markets that decide where material actually goes.

It is written for people who work in the sector or depend on it — operators, councils, contractors, suppliers and investors — and it assumes its readers already know how the industry works.

The problem

Coverage of waste tends to fall into two camps: vendor announcements and advocacy. Neither is much help to someone trying to work out what a new contract, facility or regulation means for day-to-day operations.

Every piece aims to answer three questions: what changed, why it matters, and what it means operationally.

Reporting is independent and focused on facts, figures and operational consequences rather than campaigning.
